Roberto Gauvin is the principal of the "Centre d' @pprentissage of Haut-Madawaska (CAHM)", a K to 8 francophone school located at Clair in New Brunswick Canada. He holds a baccalaureate in secondary education (major in mathematics and minor in physics) from the University of Moncton, a post-baccalaureate and a master's degree in school administration from the University of Manitoba. His career in the field of education began in 1988 as a French immersion teacher. He worked in western Canada as a French immersion science teacher and as a vice-principal of a middle and a secondary school. In September 2000, he had the chance to return home and to become the principal of the CAHM. In 2002, Roberto received the “IT Community Hero Award” from Industry Canada.

In 2003, he took part in a project so that the school could join the Innovative school network of Industry Canada. The school also took part in the action-research of the Minister of Education of New-Brunswick since 2004. Roberto uses a professional blog to share his discoveries in the world of the education, management, leadership as well as information and communication technologies. At the beginning of this project, he wanted to blog in order to practice what he was preaching. He quickly realized the many possibilities of blogging in education. Blogs proved to be an effective tool for collaboration and for improving learning for students.

On January 2007, Roberto took part in France at the “Rendez-vous d'Autrans” with two students from the CAHM and 4 others schools from Quebec. He presented CAHM projects' in Kenya in May 2007 at the eLearning Africa Conference in Nairobi. He received the “Microsoft Innovative Teacher Award" in November 2008 which brought him at the World Wide Microsoft Innovative Teachers Conference in Hong Kong. He also had the chance to visit "The Idea Factory" in Singapore. He participated in 2011 in a twinning program that brought him in Bamako in Mali. He also presented Acadiepédia at the 15th Francophone' Summit in Dakar, Senegal.

Since 2014, Roberto has been working in developing a Maker's Lab at CAHM and leave examples of the work done on the following wiki. Roberto was invited in August 2017 to present a Pecha Kucha at the Ludovia's Summer University in Ax-Les-Thermes in France. In January 2018, the CAHM was the first school in the world to receive the "Quasar" level from the International organization of conscious entrepreneurial community schools and from Idea Entrepreneurial Education. Roberto is also the first recipient of the International Paul Gérin-Lajoie - School Entrepreneur.

Roberto is one of the main organizers of Clair2018, an international conference presented since 2010. This conference's mainpurpose is to gather passionate peoples with the use of Web 2.0 tools to enhance classroom education and to discuss the best strategies in order to “See education differently”…
